Scott’s Grotto Scotts Road, Ware, Hertfordshire SG12 9JQ is a series of six interconnected chambers decorated with thousands of shells, flints and pieces of coloured glass, extending 67ft into a chalk hillside. On top of the hill you can also discover the summerhouse, which in its day would have commanded a wonderful view over Ware. Scott’s Grotto was extensively restored in 1990 and is a Grade I listed site. The summerhouse and gardens are Grade II. Herbs Highlighted – MINT (Mentha)

We recently planted some herbs for one of our customers who just happened to mention that she was rather keen on Mint and was on the lookout for as many varieties as we could find. This was a fun challenge for the team (including Moira in the office) who set about this task with much enthusiasm. To date we have found Chocolate, Pineapple, Ginger, Peppermint, Spearmint, Banana and Yakima Chewing Gum Mint to name a few. Pulling weeds by hand is not always easy or practical, especially when they are on a patio or driveway. At ARCH we do not use chemical weed-killers and prefer to use organic solutions which are safer for children and pets. We’ve listed a couple of ways to tackle weeds below, however bear in mind that they may also kill surrounding plants unless you make sure to apply to the weed only.
